2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV has been named MotorTrend’s SUV of the year!
As electric vehicles become more prominent in the automotive industry, like many other automotive manufacturers, Chevrolet has made it their mission to continue the conversation surrounding a greener way of living. Regardless of what your stance is surrounding electric vehicles, you can’t help but marvel in the comfort and affordability of the all-new Blazer EV.
The Design
Like the gasoline version, the Blazer EV is significantly different than the boxy version released in 1969. Sitting at approximately 2 inches shorter than the gasoline version counterpart, the Blazer EV’s tapered creases and concave sections offer a higher level of performance and wind resistance offer a sleek design many love.
While a polished design is important, Chevrolet sought to encompass practical features in its design. Unlike most EVs, the Blazer EV has real door handles which make it that much more reliable in cold winter conditions, an abundance of storage space for everything you need, physical controls for items like air and radio, and much much more.
While no longer being equipped with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, the Blazer EV also introduces a number of new features in their place. With it’s remarkable 17.7 inch display the Blazer EV is the first vehicle to showcase a their Google integration. This new partnership means the vehicle is fully integrated with Google Maps so it can not only help find the best route to get you where you need to go, but it also enables unique features like being able to access the battery range of your vehicle and plan the route accordingly.
New Range of Possibilities
Like every new vehicle, the Blazer EV has been thoroughly tested to ensure it can stand up to anything the driver throws it’s way. Built with GM’s Ultium EV Platform, the Blazer EV up to 521 km range with 0-96 km/h in under 4 seconds. With up to 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque, the Blazer EV is designed to offer a range of performance and driving characteristics across the three available drive systems: front-wheel, rear-wheel, and all-wheel drive. The impressive Ultium batteries come standard with 8 year/160,000 km warranty – which is 3 years and close to 60,000 km more than the average electric vehicle.
Provisioned with the most advanced safety features Chevrolet has to offer, like automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, IntelliBeam automatic high beams, and forward collision alert, this vehicle will keep you, your family, and pedestrians safe at all times. Additionally, the Blazer EV offers features like automatic reverse parking assist to automatically steer, brake, and shift gears to part you vehicle, and reverse automatic braking alerts to avoid collisions with object directly behind you.
Chevrolet has come a long way with their EVs since releasing the Bolt back in 2017. By taking the best and most practical features from the Bolt, developed them further along side the new technologies available, they were able to produce the best electric SUV on the market. Test drive one today!
